Who We’re Looking For
People with firsthand experience in their topic, not writers who spent an hour researching something they’ve never actually done. If you’ve lived it, worked in it, or built it, we want to hear from you.
What You Get
Right now, contributor guides are unpaid in exchange for a backlink and an author bio. One contextual link is allowed within the body of your guide, plus one link in your author bio. As PenguGuides grows, we plan to move to paid contributions.
What We Expect
- Original writing, exclusive to PenguGuides. It can’t be published anywhere else, before or after it runs here.
- A minimum of 800 words, with room to go longer if the topic genuinely needs it.
- Back every claim, stat, or cost figure with a real, checkable source.
- Use the same tone and structure standards across the rest of the site: plain language, no filler, headings that represent real value.
- One contextual link to your own site, placed naturally within the body, plus your author bio link.
How To Pitch
- Send us your topic idea and keywords, along with a short outline through the contact page.
- If it’s a good fit, we’ll confirm, and you can start writing.
- Submit your draft as per the requirements below.
- We review within 48 to 72 hours and send back edits or an approval.
- Once approved, it publishes with your bio and links live.
What Doesn’t Get Approved
- AI-generated or spun content passed off as original writing
- Guides with no firsthand knowledge behind them
- Sponsored or paid placements disguised as editorial content
- Anything that doesn’t meet the standards on our Editorial Standards page
Note: Our standard against AI-generated or spun content isn’t about clearing an AI-detection tool. The writing needs to genuinely read as something a person wrote, in their own voice, from their own experience, regardless of what any detector says.
